What a sweet, talented and lovely person! Elke Sommer has been a long time friend along with her husband Wolf, and it was a pleasure to interview her. We had so much to talk about and so much in common, as Elke is a professional athlete in several sports, as well as a fine actress and talented painter. I hope you will listen in to our interview. There is so much to hear and enjoy! Thank you, as always, Michael
Man, oh man! I am so happy to see Tommy Davis here! He was one of my favorites in baseball history. A great player and a super great man! RIP Tommy. Your fans are still here. My love of baseball and all the baseball players that keep us entertained throughout the years is my go-to sport! Gotta go now and listen to the show! Thank you, Michael Dante for preserving the greats in sports!
Wow! Charlie Pasarell! What a legend in the world of tennis. He has accomplished so much as a tennis player with all of the greats of the game and is highly respected. I love the game of tennis and always like to hear from those who, back in the day, created so much for us to enjoy then and now on television, and at all the Major Tournaments with the top stars of the game. I never miss a tennis event and always remember the excellence of tennis stars like Charlie Pasarell. Thanks Charlie for all you’ve done for the game and all you do now! xxxTennisxxx
I would like to comment on Kathleen Sullivan. The world of Journalism has changed and it’s not like it used to be, fair and objective. Kathleen Sullivan is a role model for me as I’m learning how to be a good journalist. It’s not easy balancing all the information but if I follow leaders in the field such as Kathleen, I will be successful and informative to my audience. Thank you Kathleen and thank you Michael Dante for this wonderful interview.
I always liked Ed Ames work with Fess Parker in the TV series Daniel Boone. He was a good actor and I enjoyed his character. I also saw him in the TV show Mc Cloud. I was sorry to hear about his passing last week and as a fan, I’ll always remember him in the good work he did. His memory will also live on through this fine interview with Michael Dante.
Johnny Bench is one of the greatest all-around catchers of all time. And I’m honored to say he’s my friend. Our interview went so well and even knowing him as I do, I learned more about his interesting life in and out of baseball. It’s an enjoyable interview for all. Thank you, Johnny.
Wow! Virginia Mayo. My sister-in-law looks exactly like her! She was so beautiful and full of grace. Her career spanned over many decades as her talent and beauty keep her working. She co-starred with many Hollywood greats. I remember hearing that her favorite sandwich was ‘peanut butter and jelly.’ 🙂 How sweet! One of my favorite actresses.
I always enjoyed watching Virginia Mayo act. She was beautiful and talented.
Michael,
You will get a kick out of this (Mary Jane too).
When Clint Walker first met my Mother he remarked how much she looked like Vriginia Mayo! Wow. What a compliment. I believe he actually said how much Hannah resembled Virginia Mayo at least one more time when we saw him again (Festival of the West).
Many of the leading ladies in film today, on television or in movies, don’t have the class that actresses of years ago did. Virginia Mayo was a perfect example of beauty and talent. She was a ‘class act.’ So many of her films were so enjoyable and I watch them on the channels that play good old movies. Thank you Michael for your great interview with one of my favorite actresses, Virginia Mayo.
I have followed Eric Braeden’s career for many years. He always lends a true sense of drama to every episode of ‘The Young and the Restless’ that’s he’s in. I always look forward to the next episode mainly because of Eric. I understand that he’s facing a health challenge now and I wish him the best now and always!
Connie Francis was one of my favorite entertainers. The interview was sensational! Connie was very candid and in-depth about her career. and her life. I recommend everyone to listen to this rare and classic interview. Thank you, Michael.
Wow! I remember so many of Rod Steiger’s films and certainly remember the one that Michael Dante was in with Rod, Seven Thieves. They were so good portraying thieves that went to rob the Monte Carlo Casino. Edward G. Robinson and Joan Collins were also in the film with other very good actors. When Michael and Rod had to go out on a ledge very high up, I held my breath because Michael was so afraid of heights! It was very suspenseful and I will always remember that film. Thank you, Michael for sharing this interview with Rod Steiger.
The film I remember Rod Steiger in was The Illustrated Man. He was covered with tattoos from head to toe. I have to see that movie again because I think it might be relevant today with the wide acceptance of tattoos in the world. He was ahead of his time in this movie and such a good actor. I can’t wait to listen to the show!
Years ago, I remember a very sexy, funny, charming actress that always captured everyone’s attention. Her name was (and is) Mamie Van Doren. I’m happy to know she is still kickin’ and that she’s out there for her fans after so many years. Good for her and good for us! I look forward to listening to this special interview. Thank you, Michael, for these great radio shows!
This show, with the ‘Hamma,’ is so appropriate now with the Superbowl coming up in two weeks. Thank you Michael for releasing this radio show now. Fred Williamson is so special and how many of us can hear from someone that actually played in Superbowl One? Wow! Plus, Fred went on to do films and TV. He’s a real superstar! I loved this show! Thanks from a big football fan, Brandon
Hi Michael, I love all of these interviews from the stars of the past that we haven’t heard from in awhile. My husband loved this one with Fred Williamson, as he’s a big football fan. And I love the other shows with entertainers, actors and actresses. You have something here for everyone. Thank you from a fan of yours too, Brenda.
Hi Michael, Hi Fred, Can I ask a question? I don’t know if it will get to Fred, but I’ll try. What was it like playing in the first Superbowl compared to the Superbowl of today? It must have been very different? Or pretty much the same, as long as the best team wins! Fred, I hope to hear from you. Thank you, Michael, Adam
Gee, I saw Trini perform several times and even met him once. What a gentleman and a good performer! It was sad he died during Covid. May he R.I.P. entertaining everyone in music heaven! And thank you Michael for sharing your interview with us. Listening to him again, Trini’s alive in our hearts forever. How wonderful!
Wow! Trini Lopez! He’s one of my all time favorite singers and performers. I’m looking forward to listening to this interview, not only to hear his voice again but to hear all his great stories. I once heard that he opened for the Beatles when they first came on the scene and the Beatles always loved him! How special and only something that can happen to one person, Trini Lopez. La Bamba, one of my favorite ‘happy’ songs. Thank you, Trini. Miss you. R.I.P.
Growing up I always remember watching Swiss Family Robinson and then a few years later Hawaii-Five O, both with James MacArthur. He was so natural and believable as an actor. I’m so impressed Michael, that you were good friends with James all those years. Both of you were working actors, probably knew lots of the same people and played a lot of golf. What a life! You and James MacArthur are two exceptional talents. Thank you for this interview! Buddy
Seriously, Kaye Ballard was one of the funniest comedienne’s ever! Ever time I saw her on TV or a few times in person at events, she made me laugh so hard! Something about the way she talked and walked and laughed, I just had to react with a huge smile. She was a very talented lady with a great gift for making people laugh. Sorry she’s gone now because we need more laughter in our world today. Thank you Kaye and Michael for giving us a chance to hear Kaye’s voice again. RIP Kaye
Thank you so much for this!! Just wonderful
Wow, can’t wait to listen to the new show with Dick Butkus! He was one of my favorite football players. In fact, one of the best! I know he did commercials and acting after his playing career, so I look forward to hearing about that too. Thank you Michael for interviewing one of the best in football! Bill
I have never laughed so hard at all the funny characters Jonathan Winters invented and shared with us for so many years! He was a genius and the best at what he did…make people laugh! I remember reading that Jonathan Winters was Robin Williams mentor and role model. Sorry that neither comedians are no longer with us, as we need more laughter in our world today. RIP Jonathan Winters and Robin Williams and thank you for entertaining us for so long!
‘Gentle on My Mind’ and ‘Wichita Lineman’ were two of my most memorable songs of Glen Campbell’s. I always sang along! But he had so many hits and all are so good, I could listen to his CD’s forever! What a talented musical artist. Glad I heard him often in my generation.
I’ll never forget Tony Curtis in the movie ‘Some Like It Hot’ along with Marilyn Monroe and Jack Lemon. What a classic film! For anyone who hasn’t seen it, you’re in for a pleasant surprise. It’s fantastic! I wish I had one of Tony Curtis’ paintings. That would be such a treasure. Thank you, Michael, for an outstanding interview with one of the greats of Hollywood and beyond.
Michael, I want to thank you again for doing these great interviews. Tony Curtis was indeed a great talent.
*LaUgHiNg* Kirk Douglas wanted to play both parts in “The Defiant Ones” and Tony Curtis said that he (Tony) wanted to play the part in drag. What an hilarious sense of humor Tony Curtis had! Another fabulous interview Michael Dante, and thank you for sharing this with us too *hugs*
Michael and Mary Jane
Really awesome coloring that makes the content jump out! Love your material. Many people will want to listen to these exclusive interviews that disclose information about these stars for the first time. Congratulations team Dante
Ah…Debbie Reynolds! This wonderful, talented, iconic actress, singer, and dancer had it all. I always wished I could have had half the talent she had. Plus, she was mom to Carrie Fisher, of Star Wars fame, and more. We lived in the ‘good ‘ol’ days with some of the best in Entertainment of all time; The Golden Era of Entertainment. It was great to hear her voice again and her stories. Very special! Thank you, Michael and Team Dante
Absolutely wonderful interview by the fabulous Michael Dante, asking all the right questions of the incomparable Debbie Reynolds. Two charmers discussing MGM, the change in the movie world from the studio beginnings to the individual producing era, Debbie Reynolds’ collection of MGM memorabilia, and Debbie’s thoughts about the decline in movie story telling that used to permit people to escape to a positive, wonderful, glamorous world. Enjoyed this interview immensely. Thank you, Michael Dante for your fabulous new website and the sharing of these terrific interviews……Bravo….
Debbie Reynolds was very talented, and always came across as likeable!
Michael & Mary Jane, these interviews are *ALL* so W.O.N.D.E.R.F.U.L.!
Love this!! *hugs* Team Dante!
When I was growing up, one of my idols was Tommy Lasorda. He was a strong leader, believed in his team and knew what they stood for…excellence! I always admired him and now I have the joy of hearing his voice and ‘spirit’ once more! Thank you Michael, for sharing this great interview.
Dawn Wells was a beautiful and talented lady. She came across and a sweet “girl next door” type!
Great interview
This interview with Dawn Wells is awesome! Really Really like the story about the Arabian horse
Michael, thank you so much for posting this particular interview. I have looked up to Pat Boone, for many years. I am happy to know that you are a Christian man as well. I am also a born-again believer. Take care, and God Bless!!
Two Pat Boone movies that I remember and loved were April Love and Journey to the Center of the Earth. Back in the day, Pat Boone was a very big name in films and as a singer. It’s great to hear his stories, that bring back fond memories. Thank you Michael, for interviewing one of my favorite classic stars!
What a good interview, Michael. And what a beautiful lady. Gee, she was such a special part of the Golden Age of Hollywood and it’s fantastic to hear her voice again and listen to her stories. It’s priceless!
This is awesome
Although I don’t speak “baseballese” nor do I know many of the players named, it was a fun interview mostly because Yogi and Michael had such a good time discussing baseball and Yogi’s career!
The legend behind ‘It ain’t over till it’s over’…
I love baseball and the games right now are leading up to the two teams that will play in the World Series 2022. Then, sadly, no more baseball until next April. I know, football, golf, tennis to watch instead, but for me, there’s nothing like baseball! Yogi Berra is one of the greatest and the interview is awesome. Thank you, Michael!
Sorry that the Yankees didn’t make it into the World Series this year. No matter what, Yogi Berra is my favorite Yankee, whether they won or lost. He was so special, as a ballplayer and a man. He was so funny too! His ‘sayings’ always made me laugh. 🙂
I love Julie Newmar! She’s so charming and talented and I loved her with Michael in the Original Star Trek episode ‘Friday’s Child.’ They were great together! This interview is awesome! Thank you.
Michael, thank you so much for doing this interview. Julie Newmar is a great talent, and a very beautiful lady!
These interviews are fantastic! How would we ever get to hear all about these famous celebrities lives and stories, unless for these rare radio shows. Thank you, Michael Dante.
Oh, sweet Mr. Clint. He was such a nice guy. Like you.
I remember when I was a kid and my parents asked me what I wanted to grow up to be and I’d say, “Clint Walker.”
Clint Walker in ‘Night of the Grizzly’
The Sweetest Man Ever!
Clint Walker’s interview was quite a surprise! He was so articulate and had such an interesting life before becoming an actor. Who knew?
What a great interview! Enjoyed it immensely!!
Clint Walker was one of my favorite cowboys in Cheyenne. He was tall and handsome and didn’t mess around. A cowboy idol, for sure!
It was a great interview Michael you are the best you touched on many subjects and I was very interested for the entire 45 minutes I wish it was longer and hoped he had gone into his after death experience but nevertheless you’re the best interview or and I hope everybody listens to it Clint was an amazing guy.
I always liked Clint Walker. In fact, I named my oldest son after him, as well as Clint Eastwood. RIP sir.
Loved Clint Walker and enjoyed so much this interview. Still watch Cheyenne and his movies. He had a very blessed life and we were all blessed by him. Thanks Michael for this interview.
I just finished an enjoyable weekend at NoirCon, dedicated to film noir and all film noir fans. Constance Towers, Anthony Eisley and I starred in the film, ‘The Naked Kiss’ which was shown on Saturday night, including my introduction, question & answers, and storytelling about making the film with revered director Sammy Fuller. I’m sorry that Connie was unable to attend. We missed her lovely presence. You can listen to her interview here, as we did discuss the film.
Don’t know if you’ve ever seen ‘The Naked Kiss.’
Michael Dante and Constance Towers are classic ‘Film Noir’ in the film!
What a lovely and talented woman with quite an interesting life! Of the four or five interviews I have listened to, this is one of my favorites.
These radio interviews are unbelievable! The classic celebrities are right here to listen to. Wow! Thank you, Michael
‘Ohhh my!’ I just loved this interview!
I am a huge Star Trek fan and I loved hearing from Mr. Sulu!
I listened to the interview Michael did with George Takei and it was great! I’m a huge Star Trek fan and fan of Takei…and Michael Dante. Good stuff! I’m looking forward to more interviews.
